Automated matching and calculations

Awards name the legal entity that won. We match those names to publicly traded parent companies automatically, using a list we maintain. Matches can be wrong, incomplete or out of date — for example after an acquisition or spin-off.

“Share of revenue” divides the announced award value by the company's revenue for its latest full fiscal year, as reported to the SEC. Award values are often paid over several years; ceiling values on indefinite-delivery and multiple-award contracts may never be fully used; and modifications add to existing contracts. The figure is a sense of scale, not a forecast.
